A Solar Power Plant              
in the Heart of Bern

Right in the heart of Bern, we had the opportunity to install a solar power plant combined with a green roof.

Photovoltaic System

As part of a modernization project on Laupenstrasse in Bern, the building's flat roof was renovated in an environmentally friendly way and equipped with Contec's innovative greenlight system. This system, known for its sustainability and efficiency, uses trays made from recycled HDPE (high-density polyethylene), which are first laid out on the roof. These sturdy trays serve as the foundation for the subsequent mounting structure that supports the solar modules.

The substrate contains plant seeds that transform the roof into a green oasis. This vegetation not only helps naturally cool the building but also improves air quality and provides a habitat for various insects.  

The successful implementation of this photovoltaic system on Laupenstrasse in Bern demonstrates how existing buildings can be efficiently modernized through innovative measures while simultaneously contributing to environmental protection. It serves as a flagship project for future renovation efforts that prioritize sustainability and energy efficiency.
